Translated by Swami Tyagananda

ॐ भूर्भुव:स्व: तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि ।

धियो यो न: प्रचोदयात् ।

ॐ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ, tat savitur vareṇyam, bhargo devasya dhīmahi.

Dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt.

Bhūḥ (earth) bhuvaḥ (the space between earth and heavens) svaḥ (heavens) tat (that) savituḥ devasya (of the divine sun) varenyam (worthy of worship) bhargo (effulgence) dhīmahī (we meditate upon). Yaḥ (who) naḥ (our) dhiyaḥ (understanding) pracodayāt (direct, guide).

ॐ We meditate upon the worshipful effulgence of the divine sun [the supreme reality], who pervades the earth, sky and heavens. May [that reality] guide our understanding. ॐ
